Reps Release Newly Signed Tax Laws for Public Scrutiny After Alteration Claims
The House of Representatives has released the full texts of four recently enacted tax reform laws for public access and scrutiny following claims that the legislation may have been altered after passage.
In a statement issued on Saturday night, Akin Rotimi, spokesperson of the House, said the move was taken in the interest of transparency and accountability, especially amid public concerns over the integrity of the laws signed by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
According to the statement, the released laws are:
Nigeria Tax Act, 2025
Nigeria Tax Administration Act, 2025
Joint Revenue Board of Nigeria (Establishment) Act, 2025
Nigeria Revenue Service (Establishment) Act, 2025.
Rotimi noted that making the documents publicly available would allow Nigerians, stakeholders, and experts to independently review the contents and verify their authenticity
