Proposed Ogoja State Is Economically Viable, Says Senator Jarigbe

Senator Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe, who represents the Cross River North Senatorial District, has argued that the proposed Ogoja State is economically viable and should be considered for creation.

Speaking on the matter, Jarigbe highlighted that Ogoja remains the only colonial-era provincial headquarters yet to attain statehood, despite its historical significance. 

He believes that if the region's resources are properly harnessed, the new state will thrive and outperform its current status within Cross River State.

Drawing a comparison, the senator pointed out that Uyo, now a thriving city, would not have developed as it has if Akwa Ibom State had not been created from Cross River State
