President Tinubu Suspends Immediate Takeover of Nearly 4,800 Revoked FCT Properties

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has halted the forceful takeover of 4,794 properties in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) that were revoked due to prolonged non-payment of Ground Rent.

The Director of Land Administration for the FCT, Chijioke Nwankwoeze, announced in a statement on Monday, May 26, that enforcement actions had begun earlier that day against properties with unpaid Ground Rent spanning 10 to 43 years.

 These properties belong to government agencies, corporate bodies, and private individuals.
