President Tinubu Reshuffles South East Development Commission Board, Appoints New Chairman and Executive Directors
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced significant changes to the board of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), appointing Dr. Emeka Nworgu as the new chairman, replacing Hon. Emeka Atuma.
In a comprehensive reshuffle, the President replaced all three initially appointed executive directors and added two new executive directors to the board. Notably, one board member, Donatus Eyinnah Nwankpa, has been removed from his position.
Hon. Mark C. Okoye retains his role as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Commission, which now features a 16-member board, an increase from the original composition.
The newly appointed executive directors include Stanley Ohajuruka for finance, who takes over from Anthony Ugbo; Toby Okechukwu as the executive director of projects, replacing Obinna Obiekweihe; and Chief Sylvester Okonkwo as the executive director of corporate services, succeeding Dr. Daniel Ikechukwu Ugwuja.
Additionally, Chidi Echeazu and Dr. Clifford Ogbede have been nominated as executive directors without specific portfolios.
The President has also retained several board members, including Barr. Ugochukwu H. Agballah, Hon. Okey Ezenwa, Chief Hyacinth Ikpor, Barr. Ifeanyi Agwu, Nasiru Usman, and Hamma Adama Ali Kumo, along with Edward David Onoja, Orure Kufre Inima, and Chief (Mrs.) Joke Adebayo-Chukwuma.
