President Tinubu Implements "Buy Nigerian or Get a Waiver" Policy to Boost Local Economy

In a strategic move aimed at strengthening Nigeria's economy and reducing dependency on foreign imports, President Bola Tinubu has introduced the Renewed Hope Nigeria First Policy.

 Approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC), the policy mandates all government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to prioritize locally made goods and services.

Under the new directive, any MDA wishing to procure foreign alternatives must secure a written waiver from the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP). Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, hailed the policy as a transformative shift in the country’s economic approach.
