Oyo State Police Rescue 84 Victims in Human Trafficking Raid

The Oyo State Police Command has successfully dismantled a human trafficking network in Ibadan, rescuing 83 adults and one child during a well-coordinated operation.

The raid took place in the Orogun area of Ibadan, where the victims had been confined for an unknown period.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the victims, who are reportedly from the Democratic Republic of Congo, were lured to Nigeria under false promises of employment.

Authorities also revealed that the traffickers extorted significant sums of money, primarily in U.S. dollars, from the victims' families as part of a fraudulent scheme
