Over 2,000 Undocumented Foreigners Detained in Accra During Crackdown on Street Begging

Ghanaian immigration authorities have arrested more than 2,000 undocumented foreign nationals in Accra as part of a major crackdown targeting criminal networks and organized street begging.

The operation, conducted early Friday, resulted in the detention of 2,241 people, including 1,332 children, according to a statement from the Ghana Immigration Services. 

This effort is part of a wider campaign addressing concerns over foreign nationals’ involvement in coordinated street begging activities.
