Nigeria has unveiled an ambitious plan to provide electricity to 300 million Africans by 2030, according to Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Abbas Tajudeen.

The announcement was made during the First Legislative Conference and Expo on Renewable Energy in Lagos.

Under the Mission 300 initiative, in collaboration with the World Bank and the African Development Bank (AfDB), Nigeria aims to take continental leadership in renewable energy expansion.

Abbas praised President Bola Tinubu for approving a $1 billion funding package for the Rural Electrification Agency, with $750 million earmarked for solar mini-grids and home systems expected to impact over 200,000 Nigerians.
