Nigeria and UN Launch $159 Million Emergency Plan to Combat Hunger in Northeast

The Nigerian government, in partnership with the United Nations, has rolled out a $159 million intervention plan to confront the escalating food and nutrition crisis in the northeastern states of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe.

The joint initiative, unveiled in Abuja, is aimed at providing comprehensive support during the 2025 lean season. 

It focuses on delivering food, nutrition, and healthcare to over 2 million people facing acute hardship in the BAY states.
