Mrs. Unoma Godswill Akpabio, the wife of the Senate President, has filed a significant lawsuit against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, seeking N250 billion in damages and an unconditional public apology. The legal action is based on allegations of defamation and violations of fundamental rights stemming from remarks made by Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan during a televised interview on Arise News.

The lawsuits, initiated in the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, include a fundamental rights case (Suit No: CV/814/25) and a separate defamation case (Suit No: CV/816/25). Mrs. Akpabio claims that her rights have been infringed upon due to statements made by the senator, which she argues have caused emotional distress and threats to her family's safety.
