LP’s Datti Declares 2027 Presidential Ambition, One Week After Obi’s Exit

Datti Baba Ahmed, former vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 general elections, has formally declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election.

Baba Ahmed made the declaration on Wednesday at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja, addressing party leaders, members, and supporters.

The announcement comes barely one week after Peter Obi, his 2023 running mate, exited the Labour Party for the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
