Lagos Court Sentences BRT Driver to Death 

A Lagos High Court sitting at Tafawa Balewa Square has sentenced Andrew Nice Ominikoron, a Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) driver, to death by hanging for the brutal murder of 22-year-old fashion designer Bamise Ayanwola.

Justice Sherifat Sonaike delivered the verdict on Friday, declaring that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt. 

The court relied heavily on Bamise’s dying declaration and the legal doctrine of “last seen,” which points to the accused as the last person to be with the victim before her death.
