Kenyan Opposition MP Charles Ong'ondo Assassinated 

Kenya has been thrown into mourning after the shocking assassination of opposition lawmaker Charles Ong'ondo Were, who was fatally shot in Nairobi on Wednesday night in what authorities are describing as a calculated and targeted attack.

Were, the Member of Parliament representing Kasipul constituency under the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), was ambushed near a busy and heavily monitored roundabout along Ngong Road.

 According to police reports, gunmen riding a motorcycle trailed his vehicle before one of them dismounted and opened fire at close range.

Police spokesperson Muchiri Nyaga confirmed the killing, calling it a "deliberate and premeditated act
