James Howells Considers Purchasing Landfill to Retrieve Lost Bitcoin Fortune

James Howells, a computer engineer from Newport, Wales, has been on a decade-long quest to recover a hard drive containing approximately 8,000 Bitcoins, currently valued at nearly $750 million.

 In 2013, the hard drive was inadvertently discarded and ended up in a local landfill. After a recent legal attempt to gain access to the site was dismissed by a judge, Howells is now exploring the possibility of purchasing the landfill in collaboration with investment partners. 

This move comes as Newport City Council plans to close and cap the site in the upcoming fiscal year, with intentions to develop it into a solar farm.
