IRELAND PLAYERS TO WEAR BLACK ARMBANDS FOR ISRAEL CLASH
Republic of Ireland players intend to wear black armbands during Sunday’s Nations League match against Israel, saying the gesture will be “in recognition of all lives lost in the [Gaza] conflict.”
The team confirmed they will go ahead with the fixture after a squad vote reportedly produced a “significant majority” in favour of playing.
The planned gesture comes amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza and the wider debate surrounding the fixture
