Investigators Trace Malami’s Alleged Billions to Abacha Loot, Paris Club Refunds, CBN Agric Loans

Investigators have reportedly linked a substantial portion of the wealth of Abubakar Malami, former attorney general of the federation (AGF), to multiple high profile public funds, including Paris Club refunds, unpaid Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) agricultural loans, and recovered Abacha loot.

According to findings, the Paris Club refunds paid to state governments, funds under the CBN’s Anchor Borrowers’ Programme, and monies restituted to Nigeria from the Abacha loot recovery process are central to the ongoing probe.

Malami is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and is expected to be arraigned before a Federal High Court in Abuja.
