ICAO Implements New Compensation Limits for International Flights

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has officially announced the implementation of new compensation limits for international flights, effective December 28, 2024. 

This major update aims to enhance passenger protection and ensure fair compensation for travelers in the event of flight-related incidents. 

The ICAO’s decision underscores its commitment to improving air travel standards and safeguarding passenger rights globally.

Under the revised regulations, compensation limits have been significantly increased. For cases of death or injury, the new limit is set at $202,500, while passengers experiencing delays will be eligible for compensation up to $8,400.
