Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy Freed After 20 Days in Jail

Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy has been released from La Santé Prison after spending 20 days in detention over allegations of receiving illegal campaign funds from Libya.

The 70 year old ex-leader was granted temporary release following a judge’s decision to allow him to remain free while his legal team pursues an appeal.
