Forcing Tinubu’s Hand on VP Choice Sends a Troubling Message — Okechukwu Warns APC

Okey Okechukwu, Executive Director of the Development Specs Academy, has expressed concern over internal tensions within the All Progressives Congress (APC), warning that pressuring President Bola Tinubu on the choice of a running mate could set a dangerous precedent.

Speaking on recent political developments, particularly the North East’s endorsement of Tinubu and the friction it generated, Okechukwu stressed the importance of party unity and discipline.

“The APC has only one presidential ticket. It would be troubling, both politically and symbolically, for a sitting president to be muscled into selecting a deputy against his will,” he stated.
