FG Targets End to N200bn Solar Panel Imports, Backs Local Manufacturing Drive
The Federal Government is stepping up efforts to cut down the country’s heavy reliance on imported solar panels, which have cost Nigeria over N200 billion.
Speaking during a roundtable discussion with the Lagos State Government on Monday in Victoria Island, the Managing Director and CEO of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Abba Aliyu, stressed the urgency of promoting local production of renewable energy components.
Aliyu revealed that progress is being made toward domestic manufacturing, with Lagos positioned to play a leading role in the transition
