EFCC Re-Arrests Kano TikTok Influencer Murja Kunya Over Alleged Naira Mutilation

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has re-arrested popular Kano-based TikTok influencer, Murja Ibrahim Kunya, for allegedly abusing and mutilating the Naira.

According to a statement from the agency, Kunya was taken into custody on Sunday, March 16, 2025, following weeks of investigation and surveillance.

 She was accused of spraying Naira notes during a stay at Tahir Guest Palace in Kano, an act that violates the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Act.

Her latest arrest comes after she reportedly jumped administrative bail granted to her by the EFCC over a month ago. Kunya was initially arrested in January 2025 for similar offenses and was expected to appear in court but evaded legal proceedings.
