EFCC Boss Urges National Assembly to Pass Law Targeting Unexplained Wealth

The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has appealed to lawmakers in the National Assembly to enact legislation specifically targeting unexplained wealth, arguing that such a law would significantly strengthen the nation’s anti-corruption framework.

Speaking in Abuja during the National Conference on Public Accounts and Fiscal Governance jointly convened by the Senate and House Public Accounts Committees Olukoyede emphasized that individuals living far beyond their legitimate income should be held accountable by law.

“I want to make an appeal to you all please, pass the bill on unexplained wealth,” he urged, pointing out that the absence of such legislation emboldens corrupt practices.
