Edo South Constituents Push to Recall Senator Imasuen Over Corruption Allegations
A group of constituents from Edo South Senatorial District has issued a 14-day ultimatum to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), the Senate, and anti-corruption agencies to take action on their petition to recall Senator Neda Imasuen.
The Labour Party (LP) senator is facing accusations of corruption, abuse of office, and neglecting his constituents. Additionally, reports have resurfaced about his disbarment by the New York Supreme Court in 2010 over allegations of fraud and misappropriation of client funds.
During a press conference in Benin City, representatives from five local governments emphasized their demand for accountability. They stated, “We have created a platform to raise awareness and recall failed legislators in Edo South. Silence gives consent.”
