DSS Files Charges Against X and Meta Over Sowore’s Posts on Tinubu
The Department of State Services (DSS) has filed a five-count legal action at the Federal High Court in Abuja against major social media platforms X (formerly Twitter) and Meta (owners of Facebook).
The case stems from posts made by activist Omoyele Sowore on August 25 and 26, 2025.
According to the charge sheet, Sowore allegedly used his verified X account and Facebook page to describe President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a “criminal” while also accusing him of dishonesty in relation to corruption during his official trip to Brazil.
