Defence Minister Badaru Steps Down Citing Health Challenges
In a letter dated December 1, 2025, Minister of Defence Abubakar Badaru formally notified President Bola Tinubu of his immediate resignation, attributing the decision to health concerns.
President Tinubu has accepted the resignation and thanked Badaru for his service and commitment to the country.
The president is expected to forward a nomination for Badaru’s replacement to the Senate before the end of the week.
