Court Grants Godwin Emefiele N2 Billion Bail Amid Housing Probe

Justice Halilu Yusuf of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court on Monday granted bail in the sum of N2 billion to Godwin Emefiele in a case related to the ownership of 753 duplexes in Abuja.

Emefiele, the former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, is currently facing trial on an eight-count charge, including unlawful ownership of a large number of residential properties and the alleged mismanagement of vast sums of money through proxy accounts.

While delivering his ruling, Justice Yusuf made it clear that Emefiele had previously been released on bail in connection with other ongoing cases and had not breached any of the conditions previously set by the cour
