Court Grants Bail to Jude Okoye in Alleged $1 Million and £34,000 Money Laundering Case

Jude Okoye, the former manager of popular music duo P-Square, has been released from the Ikoyi Correctional Centre after securing bail in his ongoing money laundering case.

The bail was granted following a hearing at the Special Offences Court in Ikeja on Thursday, March 6, 2025.

Justice Rahman Oshodi, who presided over the case, had earlier ordered Okoye’s remand after he was arraigned on multiple charges linked to the alleged theft and unlawful conversion of $1 million and £34,000. The allegations revolve around digital distribution and publishing royalties funds that were allegedly diverted under his watch as head of Northside Music Limited.

During the court session, Okoye pleaded not guilty to the four-count charge brought against him. His legal counsel, Clement Onwuenwunor (SAN), informed the court that a formal bail application had already been submitted on February 27 and duly served to the prosecution the following day.

With the court now granting his request, Okoye has satisfied all bail conditions, leading to his release from the detention facility. However, the legal battle is far from over, as the court has scheduled the trial to commence on May 16 and 23, 2025.
