Colombian President Gustavo Petro Claims US Revoked His Visa Amid Tensions

Colombian President Gustavo Petro, the country's first left wing leader and a former member of the 19th of April Movement guerrilla group, has revealed that the United States has allegedly revoked his visa. 

Petro, who was set to attend meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank, stated that he was no longer welcome in the US and that his participation was replaced by Colombia’s Minister of Finance, Germán Avila, who is currently in Washington, D.C.

The visa revocation appears to stem from escalating tensions between the US and Colombia, particularly after a dispute in January.
