China’s Harsh Stand Against Child Sexual Abuse

What happens when a country takes an uncompromising approach to crimes against children?

On November 13, 2024, China reportedly carried out the executions of three men convicted of serious sexual offences against minors. The cases included a primary school teacher accused of repeatedly abusing six female students, a man who targeted eight girls through various locations and online platforms, and a shopkeeper who reportedly abused a 12-year-old girl for years.

China’s Supreme People’s Court publicly detailed the cases and said the executions were intended to demonstrate the country’s zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and deter others from committing similar crimes.

In another case, three individuals were reportedly executed in May 2025 for serious offences involving minors, including vulnerable children and victims targeted through online platforms and illegal institutions.

The punishments have sparked debate beyond China, with many people questioning how different countries approach the most serious crimes against children.

Whatever your position on capital punishment, one question remains: What should the maximum punishment be for people who sexually abuse children?

Comment “JUSTICE” if you believe child sexual offenders should face the harshest possible penalties.
