China Downplays Impact of Trump’s Tariffs, Says Domestic Economy Is the Priority
A former adviser to China’s central bank, David Daokui Li, has dismissed concerns over the potential impact of Donald Trump’s tariffs on China, stating that they are not among the country’s top economic challenges.
Speaking on Bloomberg: The China Show, Li emphasized that Beijing is fully prepared to handle any tariff measures the U.S. might impose. Instead of focusing on external trade pressures, China is prioritizing domestic economic growth, particularly through efforts to boost consumer spending.
