Captain Ibrahim Traoré Increases Social Welfare Budget by 30%
Burkina Faso’s military leader, Captain Ibrahim Traoré, has announced a 30% increase in the national budget allocated to support less privileged citizens, just weeks after rolling out a wave of transformative economic and social reforms across the country.
The 37 year old president has recently introduced several policies aimed at improving the standard of living for ordinary Burkinabè citizens.
Among these reforms are:
Salary cuts for government officials to reduce administrative costs.
Free university education and monthly stipends for students.
Distribution of over 5,000 agricultural machines to boost food production.
