Boy Who Stood in Front of Peter Obi's Convoy During 2023 Elections Reportedly Arraigned Wrongly for Theft
The young boy who made headlines during the 2023 elections by standing in front of Peter Obi's convoy has reportedly been wrongfully arraigned for theft and fighting. According to his family, the boy, who was coming back from work, was apprehended by individuals in the street who falsely accused him of being involved in theft and fighting in the area.
He was subsequently taken to the police station and charged with these crimes.
The case, which was recently heard at Orege Court in Ajegunle on March 27 and adjourned until April 28, is now under review by the Department of Public Prosecutions (DPP). His mother, who has been in communication with the authorities, asserts that her son is innocent and simply a victim of circumstances, particularly after he was mistakenly associated with a crime due to his involvement in the previous election.
The case file is currently with the DPP, and the court is awaiting legal advice on how to proceed.
