AFCON UPDATE:Mohamed Amine Amoura, the Algeria forward, has issued a public apology

 Following his gesture during their match against Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Amoura explained that he was not aware of the meaning or historical context of the gesture associated with a DRC fan at the time. He stressed that there was no intention to provoke, insult, or disrespect the Congolese people or their supporters.
“I regret the gesture. It was not intentional, and I never meant any form of disrespect,” Amoura said
