Nigerian activist Omoyele Sowore has alleged that police officials at the Force Investigation Department (FCID) denied him and the family of TikToker Timothy Gabriel (@official_tumma) visitation rights despite meeting necessary protocols.

According to Sowore, Gabriel had been detained for nearly 50 days at the request of First Lady Senator Remi Tinubu. Efforts to visit him were reportedly blocked, while authorities also refused to present him in court for trial.

Sowore further claimed that discussions in a Nigeria Police Force WhatsApp group exposed corrupt practices and inhumane attitudes among officers. He reiterated his stance against extortion, torture, and rights violations, emphasizing that police reform is inevitable.

Following public outcry and legal pressure, Gabriel was eventually released on bail, and Sowore confirmed that he is now a free man.

The activist ended his statement with calls for police reform and the resignation of Inspector General Kayode Egbetokun, using the hashtags #EgbetokunMustGo and #RevolutionNow.
