Six-year-old Abdelrahman Azzam was pulled alive from the rubble of a collapsed building in Gaza City, in a tragedy that reportedly killed at least 21 people, including his mother and brother.

His rescue came amid the devastation left by years of conflict, where many Gaza residents face an agonizing choice between living in tents or staying in buildings that have been severely damaged and may no longer be structurally safe.
