A teenager has allegedly stabbed a girl inside a shop after she refused to go on a date with him.

According to reports, the boy had asked the girl out, but she turned him down. He allegedly followed her to a store with a blade hidden in the pocket of his jeans before attacking her.

The disturbing incident has sparked renewed concerns about obsessive behaviour, rejection, and violence against women and girls.

No one owes another person a relationship simply because they were asked out — and rejection should never be treated as a reason for violence.
