Seyi Tinubu's Endorsements and Obasa's Outburst Shape Lagos Governorship Race

The endorsements for Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, ahead of the 2027 Lagos governorship election have ignited significant debate among political stakeholders. Recently, the Coalition of Nigerian Youth Leaders (CONYL), representing youth groups from all six geopolitical zones, publicly endorsed Seyi during a meeting in Owerri. 

The leadership of CONYL, including President General Comrade Goodluck Ibem and Secretary Comrade Junard Abubakar, cited Seyi's leadership qualities and his father's legacy of transformational governance in Lagos as key reasons for their support. This endorsement has led to a flurry of similar support, with the Lagos branch of the Middle Belt Youths also backing Seyi during a press conference at Eko Hotel. 

Dr. Stanley Augustine Kavwam and Capt. Brent Kane, leaders within the Middle Belt Forum, described Seyi as the leader Lagos needs in 2027. Additionally, the Friends of Seyi Tinubu (FOST) issued a statement highlighting his philanthropic efforts and leadership skills as evidence of his readiness to govern.

However, these endorsements have prompted intense discussions, particularly on social media, where critics have questioned the viability of Seyi's candidacy. Adding to the discourse, Lagos Assembly Speaker Mudashiru Obasa made headlines with his outburst regarding the political climate, further setting the tone for the upcoming election battle.
