Neymar Jr Confirms He Nearly Joined Fluminense for Club World Cup, Opted to Stay at Santos for Recovery

Brazilian football star Neymar Jr has revealed that he came close to signing with Fluminense ahead of the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

 According to the forward, the opportunity was serious and under real consideration.

“There was a strong possibility of me joining Fluminense for the Club World Cup,” Neymar said. “It was a real option.”

However, he explained that his decision to remain at Santos was driven by his current physical condition.

 “I’m not yet at 100%, and I want to focus on my recovery. It’s important for me to be in top form as soon as possible,” he added.
