NCC Authorizes Disconnection of Exchange Telecommunications from MTN Nigeria

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has authorized the disconnection of Exchange Telecommunications Limited from MTN Nigeria due to unpaid interconnect charges. This decision follows the NCC's finding that Exchange Telecommunications failed to provide sufficient justification for not settling its financial obligations.

In a statement released on December 27, Reuben Muoka, the NCC's Director of Public Affairs, confirmed the disconnection. He stated, "The Nigerian Communications Commission hereby notifies the public that approval has been granted for the disconnection of Exchange Telecommunications Limited (Exchange) from MTN Nigeria Communications Limited (MTN) as a result of non-settlement of interconnect charges."
