FG Bans MDAs from Issuing Contract Awards Without Finance Ministry Approval

The Federal Government has announced a new directive prohibiting all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) from issuing contract award letters unless they have obtained warrants or an Authority to Incur Expenditure (AIE) from the Minister of Finance.

According to the government, the measure is aimed at ensuring strict financial discipline, preventing unauthorized commitments, and promoting transparency in public procurement.
