CCC Mourns the Sudden Passing of Three Prominent Clerics on New Year's Day

The Celestial Church of Christ (CCC) has announced the sudden passing of three notable clerics on January 1, 2025. Evangelist Oladotun Elusanmi, Shepherd Olumuyiwa Michael, and Assistant Venerable Superior Evangelist Johnson Olajuwon were confirmed deceased in a statement released by the church’s media head.

Superior Evangelist Kayode Ajala, Secretary of the Pastor in Council and Head of Media and Publicity for CCC worldwide, expressed the church's sorrow over the loss. He noted that the deaths have left the congregation in mourning.

Assistant Venerable Superior Evangelist Johnson Olajuwon, known affectionately as "JJ," served as the prophet of the CCC, Saint S.B.J. Oshoffa Cathedral, International Headquarters in Ketu. His passing was particularly shocking, as he had participated actively in the cross-over service just before his death.

Olatosho Oshoffa, the Shepherd of CCC International Headquarters, Ketu, praised Olajuwon as a dedicated and loyal servant of God in a message shared on Facebook.

The announcements of the deaths were made through various social media channels, with Michael’s passing reported by CCC Christ Testimony Parish, Ikorodu, and Elusanmi’s death confirmed via the Instagram account ‘Celestialgeneration.’

Ajala urged the congregation and the public not to sensationalize the deaths, emphasizing that death is a natural part of life. "Death is a necessary end, and it will come at the appropriate time for everyone. People die every day," he stated. He encouraged a perspective rooted in faith, reminding followers that there is a time for everything, as noted in the Bible
