YOUR LIFESTYLE - The Liquid Poison

You see that beer you enjoy drinking, those times you hangout with the guys and gulp down a few bottles?
It poses great damage to your body and health

What alcohol does to your body

Alcohol causes 4 out of 5 deaths from liver diseases

One important function of your liver is detoxification of substances.
When it comes to alcohol, it helps to breakdown alcohol into acetaldehyde which can be harmful in high doses. The acetaldehyde is broken down to acetate which is further metabolized and leaves your body as carbon dioxide and water.

When you drink more alcohol than your liver can process, your liver can become badly damaged.

Each time your liver filters alcohol, some of the liver cells die. The liver can develop new cells but prolonged alcohol misuse over the years can affect the liver's ability to regenerate and this can result in permanent damages to your liver.

Alcohol can cause different types of liver diseases which includes
- Fatty Liver (Steatosis)
- Inflammation of the liver (Alcoholic Hepatitis)
- Scarring of the liver (Cirrhosis)
- Liver failure

Alcoholic Liver disease is preventable and the most important part of treatment is to stop drinking alcohol completely.
