Simon Ekpa, a Finland-based pro-Biafra activist, has refuted claims that he stated the World Bank, with the involvement of former Nigerian Finance Minister Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, had agreed to loan the Biafra Government $57.5 billion.
In a statement released on Thursday, Ekpa clarified that the assertions stemmed from a fake post attributed to him on social media platform X. This post, shared on October 23, 2024, falsely claimed that the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had approved the loan, citing Okonjo-Iweala's assistance in securing the funding for Biafra agitation.
Dr. Okonjo-Iweala had previously denounced the impersonated statement, emphasizing the importance of verifying information and preventing the spread of false claims.
