President Bola Tinubu and the Federal Executive Council (FEC) have announced the dissolution of the Ministry of Niger Delta and the Ministry of Sports Development during a meeting in Abuja on Wednesday, October 23.
In a statement issued by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, it was revealed that a new Ministry of Regional Development will be established to oversee various regional development commissions, including the Niger Delta Development Commission, North West Development Commission, South West Development Commission, and North East Development Commission.
Additionally, the National Sports Commission will assume the responsibilities previously held by the Ministry of Sports. The FEC also approved the merger of the Ministry of Tourism with the Ministry of Culture and Creative Economy, reflecting a streamlined approach to governance and resource allocation
