President Tinubu Condoles with NNPC Board and Victims' Families Following Helicopter Crash

President Bola Tinubu has expressed his condolences to the Board of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) and the families of the victims of the helicopter crash that occurred near Bonny Finima in Port Harcourt on Thursday. The helicopter, operated by East Winds Aviation and registered as 5NBQG, was contracted by NNPC Limited to transport staff to the FPSO—NUIMS ANTAN facility when it tragically went down into the Atlantic Ocean. In response to the incident, President Tinubu has directed an intensified search and rescue operation for the passengers aboard the helicopter. He urged military personnel involved in various operations in the area to assist in the rescue efforts and provide necessary support to the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB), the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, and other relevant agencies. The President conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to the Board and staff of NNPC and offered prayers for the three individuals confirmed deceased in the accident. “I fervently pray that the Almighty God grants eternal rest to the departed souls and comforts their families during this difficult time,” he stated.
