President Tinubu Appoints Dr. Mahmud Sanusi Mohammed as CEO of Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority


President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Mahmud Sanusi Mohammed as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Upper Benue River Basin Development Authority.

Dr. Sanusi, who hails from the Jalingo Local Government Area of Taraba State, brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to his new role. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science and holds multiple degrees from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) in Zaria, including a degree in Geography, a Postgraduate Diploma in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing, and a Master's in Disaster and Risk Management and Development Studies.

In addition to his academic credentials, Dr. Sanusi is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Rice Farmers Association of Nigeria (RIFAN), underscoring his commitment to agricultural development and sustainable management of natural resources. His appointment is expected to enhance the agency's efforts in managing the Upper Benue River Basin and promoting effective water resource management in the region
