President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed seven new ministers to his cabinet, signaling a strategic expansion of his administration. Among the new appointees is Ambassador Bianca Odimegwu Ojukwu, the widow of the late Ikemba of Nnewi, Sir Chukwuemeka Ojukwu, who will serve as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
Jumoke Oduwole, the former Executive Secretary of the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council, has been appointed Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment. Other new ministers include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment; Idi Mukhtar Maiha as Minister of Livestock Development; Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development; and Dr. Suwaiba Said Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.
Additionally, Sunday Dare, the former Minister of Sports, has been named Special Adviser to the President on Public Communication and Orientation. While not officially confirmed, Dare is widely believed to have replaced Ajuri Ngelale, who resigned as Presidential spokesman in September amid controversy.
