Police in Uganda Search for Arsenal Fan Following Fatal Assault on Manchester United Supporter


Police in Uganda are actively searching for an Arsenal football fan, identified only as Onan, following a tragic incident that led to the death of a Manchester United supporter, Benjamin Okello.

The confrontation occurred on Sunday, October 27, at the Kyobugombe Trading Centre in Kaharo Sub County, after Arsenal's match against Liverpool ended in a 2-2 draw.

According to reports from TV47.digital, the altercation began when Okello celebrated Liverpool's late equalizer by throwing popcorn at the Arsenal fan, prompting a heated argument. As tensions escalated, the two men engaged in a physical scuffle, during which the Arsenal fan struck Okello with a stick, resulting in severe injuries.

Kaharo Sub County Chairperson confirmed that Okello was initially taken to Bukinda Health Centre for treatment before being referred to Rugarama Regional Referral Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The chairperson described the incident as a tragic outcome of what began as a celebration gone wrong, highlighting the dangers of football rivalries.

Authorities are urging anyone with information on Onan's whereabouts to come forward, as he is described as a notorious figure causing unrest in the community
