Nigerian Journalist Faces Deportation from UK, Claims Life at Risk Upon Return

Nigerian journalist Ibezim Nnamdi Emmanuel, publisher of Reportera News, has revealed that he faces deportation from the United Kingdom if he does not leave within the next nine days. He has been given until October 31 to return to Nigeria.

Emmanuel claims he and his family have been "treated very unjustly" and asserts that he is "being targeted" in Nigeria due to a report he published in August 2023. Following the publication, he fled to the UK to escape potential repercussions.

Unfortunately, he alleges that a Nigerian individual exploited his situation, taking all of his money without securing the necessary documents for him to remain in the UK legally. Now, facing imminent deportation, Emmanuel fears for his safety, stating that his life "will be in jeopardy" if he is forced to return to Nigeria.

In a message posted on X, he warned, "If you don’t hear from me by the end of November, then I may have been deported to Nigeria and most likely arrested by Nigerian authorities." He concluded with an urgent plea, saying, “Let this therefore serve as an SOS in advance.
