Man Previously Arrested for Theft Caught Again for Robbing Young Women
Lagos State Police Commissioner Lanre Ishola announced the arrest of Kingsley Izoronwu, along with over 200 other suspects, during a press conference on Wednesday, September 25. The 37-year-old was apprehended with two accomplices, Desmond Emeka, 28, and Sheriff Olusunmoadi, 25, for a series of nighttime robberies targeting female passengers using a Toyota Camry.
The police operation, carried out on September 22, 2024, resulted in the recovery of a homemade pistol, six live cartridges, and twelve stolen iPhones from the suspects.
During questioning, Izoronwu admitted to the crimes and revealed that he had been previously arrested and was facing prosecution for stealing from his employer while residing in the Island area of Lagos. Commissioner Ishola noted that investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of the suspects' criminal activities and to identify any other potential victims
